I will continue to work for a better Farragut

I Stand For:

  • Intelligent Solutions - We need to address problems such as overbuilding, traffic, inefficient government processes, and burdensome regulations.
  • Elimination of Unnecessary Projects - Do we need to do projects or are they pet projects of politicians.  Also, don't do things to citizens that you wouldn't want in your neighborhood or in your front yard.  We need to fix the issues that are causing real and documented problems.
  • Stopping Property Seizures - We don't need to seize property to make things better.  Alternatives need to be explored before this is even discussed.
  • Sensible Growth - Just because you can doesn't mean you need to.  How many apartment complexes does Farragut need? Is this sensible growth that matches the community?
  • Elimination of Recurring Appointments to Un-Elected Positions - We don't need to appoint anyone, especially those with a thirst for bureaucracy and power to a position where they are not answerable to the voters.  If you want a role in government you need to run for the office.

I Believe In:

  • Transparent and Efficient Government - I am not going to hide behind meetings and protocols.  I am also not going to hide behind an email address or provide responses such as "it is for your own good....it is for the children....it's for safety...."
  • Open Communication - Farragut government needs to be more open and provide information to the public on projects or plans.  They also need to publish information such as the results of polls taken on things such as speed bumps, traffic, or satisfaction with government.
  • Talking to folks in the community - Let's talk at the grocery store or over a beer.  Nothing says that the only place you can communicate with your local government is at meetings crafted to limit what you can say, when you can say it, and how you can say it.
  • Exploring Options - Government is not known for creative thinking or developing options for things.Just because it is in a 20 year old document somewhere do we really need to do it.  The public also needs to weigh in on decisions not just the few people that show up to meetings.
